Effingham’s renowned championship course was designed by legendary golf architect Harry Colt in the 1920’s and has been a members club since 1927.

Location

Situated only 30 miles south west of London within 10 minutess of the M25 (junction 10) and close to both Heathrow and Gatwick International Airports it is easily accessibly yet nestled within the heart of the open and peaceful Surrey countryside.

The Course

The 6800 yard course is set in 264 acres of picturesque, rolling chalk downs, encompasses a wealth of mature trees. It rises up to 500 feet above sea level and has stunning views both north-west to the Chilterns some 40 miles away and sweeping northwards to the panorama of the dramatic London skyline.

All Year Round Golf

Sitting on chalk downs means the drainage is simply outstanding and can offer all year round golf. With a roll up system usually offered every day of the week, no tee bookings are required

The elegant Georgian style clubhouse is a listed building dating from 1770 and is full of charm, offering an array of quintessentially British food, sourced where possible from local suppliers. They specialise in day to day golfers fayre and can also offer outstanding gourmet food for social events and private parties.

Superb Facilities

There is a variety of practice facilities for members to use including a practice range, driving nets and putting green, along with a newly opened short game area with fabulous greenside bunkers to practice those all-important score reducing shots! And if you still have some energy, two hard court tennis courts and a snooker room are all included within the membership packages.

Since hosting the British Open Qualifier from 2006 – 2010, Effingham Golf Club added to its lengthy list of prestigious championships this year, when England’s male elite amateurs visited the historic Surrey venue to compete in the 2014 Brabazon Trophy Southern Qualifier.

Toby Thorne, Championship Manager at England Golf said -

“Effingham Golf Club proved to be the perfect venue for the Brabazon Trophy Southern Qualifier. The golf course was an ideal test for the competitors and as a result, we found 30 worthy qualifiers. The player feedback we received was excellent, with all of them praising the preparation of the course and the subtlety of the greens. The clubhouse and catering facilities were also first class. In planning and delivering the Tournament, every member of staff of Effingham Golf Club could not have been more helpful and focused on providing us a 5 star service. England Golf look forward to returning here again in the near future”.
