SHERGO KURDI - ONE TO WATCH!

A Pro In The Making

Surrey youngster, Shergo Kurdi from Foxhills Golf Club, has been playing golf since he was 2 years old, picking the game up whilst accompanying his dad to the range. When Shergo turned 6, his game really took off, he started to enter tournaments – and won most of the events he played in.

He joined the Trailblazers Tour in 2011, age 7,as well as the Mini Mites Tour, winning the Championships final and Order of Merit at both. He did the same again in 2012, as well as finding time to win the UK Kids Championship Final! And it didn’t stop there…

During 2013 Shergo met Tour Coach David Burns, David took over Shergo’s coaching and with his expert guidance and knowledge Shergo’s game went from Strength to strength managing to win 18 tournaments across the UK.

2014 saw Shergo join the Surrey County Nike Rookie Tour –winning their Order of Merits in both Gross and Net. (The first time both were won by the same person in their history!)

Its not surprising with all those wins under his belt at such a young age that interest in Shergo has grown at a rapid pace. At the end of 2014, Shergo was contacted by Golf In Dubai and invited to play in the Pro/Am of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

He played the event with Tyrell Hatton and finished level par! A fantastic achievement for the youngest ever kid to play in a Pro/Am event!

The UAE are now trying to arrange for Shergo to play in the Pro/Am of the Abu Dhabi HSBC, The Abu Dhabi Invitational, and the Pro/Am of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

In 2015 Shergo will continue to play on the Surrey County Nike Rookie Tour and win as many events as he can. He also aims to play in the US Kids European Championships in Scotland, The US Kids British Championships, the US Kids World Championships in the US, The Venice Open, and the Oceanico World Championships in Portugal.

A busy year ahead!
