The team trophy is awarded to the pair with the best aggregate score over all three rounds, which take place from 22-24 April. The first 36 holes are played at Troon Portland and the final round over the Old Course, Royal Troon.

The pair successfully teamed up with India Clyburn to win the Nations Cup at last year’s British women’s stroke play championship, when MacLaren was fourth and Mehmet was 16th.

Meghan MacLaren, 21, (Wellingborough) is a past winner of the British and Irish stroke play titles and has had seven victories on the US college circuit, where she is a student at Florida International university. She is an England and GB&I international and represented Europe in this season’s inaugural Patsy Hankins Trophy against Asia Pacific.

Inci Mehmet, 19, (Royal Mid-Surrey) had top ten finishes in the 2015 World Girls’ Championship as well as in the English, Irish and Scottish women’s stroke play championships. She has followed up this year with more top tens in the South Atlantic Women's Amateur and Irish stroke play. She was in England’s winning team at last year’s women’s Home Internationals.
