A series of Twilight Golf Leagues have been launched by England Golf and Golf Genius, providing golfers across the country with new opportunities to play regular golf through a unique and fun format.
Commencing early June, the scheme involves 10 Twilight Golf Leagues being ran at 10 different locations across England, with each host venue running a seven-week league for club member and non-club member golfers with a Handicap Index® under the World Handicap System to participate in.
“By establishing these leagues across the country, we are looking to provide golfers with opportunities to meet other likeminded people through regular games of golf, whilst also experiencing what club golf can look like,” comments Craig Higgs, Managing Director of Golf Genius International.
“We are also delighted to be working with England Golf on these summer leagues, which are easily accessible outside of work hours and provide players with a modern and technology driven golfing experience.”
The format for eight of the leagues will be a pairs betterball stableford, where each round will be played at the same host venue over nine holes, with each pair’s best five rounds of six counting towards their final league position.
The final two leagues will follow a four-person team betterball format, offering larger groups the opportunity to compete.
“Twilight Golf Leagues is a fantastic chance for us to support all golfers with their game and provide a platform for some fun and regular team golf. We are all huge advocates for growing the game, and we invite golfers across the country to participate in this new, fresh league concept,” comments James Crampton, Director of Championships at England Golf.
Golfers can join a league for £30, with an additional green fee being paid directly to each venue per round. All those taking part will be playing for the chance to win some fantastic prizes.
