England win Girls’ & Boys’ Home Internationals for sixth straight time, Men & Women also win individual titles

England Golf’s Girls' & Boys' Team have won the Home Internationals for the sixth year running – meaning they have won it every year since it was combined.

England defeated Wales 13-8 on day one, before wins over Scotland 11.5-9.5 on Wednesday and a final-day victory over Ireland 13-8.

There were some formidable foursomes partnerships for the Boys in Charlie Rusbridge and Cameron Mukherjee, who won all three of their matches together, as did Ben Sessions and George Cooper. Rusbridge won 5 points from 6 overall while Mukherjee went unbeaten at the event with 4.5 points picked up from 5. There were also strong displays from Aaron Moody (4.5/6) and Ben Sessions, who also won 5 of his 6 matches.

For the Girls, Summer Carash went unbeaten across the tournament with 3.5 points picked up out of 5, while Mia Ingham won all of her singles matches and picked up 5 from 6 overall.

The Boys won overall too having won all three matches across the week, while the Girls, who beat Wales and drew with Scotland and Ireland, finished 2nd overall - only losing out by half a match point. Check out the final results here.

England Girls’ & Boys’ Captain Jamie O’Connor said: “The coaches and staff are incredibly proud of the players this week. There were so many close and hard-fought contests but it was great to come out on top.

“It was a really successful week for the Boys, winning all three matches and winning the individual title - only dropping 1.5 points in the foursomes. The Girls narrowly lost out on the individual title but showed great fight in taking it all the way to the end, only losing out by half a point.

“A massive well done to all our players and everyone involved on a brilliant week and a great result - a specific thank you must be given to our national coaches, Steven Orr and John Watson.”

Women & Men win individual titles but pipped overall

Meanwhile, England lost the Women's & Men's Home Internationals match with Ireland 11.5-9.5 on the final day, meaning they finished 2nd overall.

However, both the Women and Men won their individual events.

The Women triumphed 6-3 over Scotland on day one, 7.5-1.5 over Wales on day two, and a 5.5-3.5 victory over Ireland on the final day. Charlotte Naughton won all five of her matches, while Patience Rhodes won 5.5 points from 6 going unbeaten, with Sophia Fullbrook also going unbeaten winning 5 points from 6. Lauren Crump also won 5 of her 6 matches.

The Men won 7.5-4.5 versus Scotland and 8.5-3.5 against Wales, before an 8-4 defeat to Ireland on day three - edging the title on match points. Ben Bolton won all three of his singles matches, while Jenson Bull (4/6 points) and Max Hopkins (4.5/6) were England's star performers.
