IT'S LADIES' DAY AT FOXHILLS FOR NEW GOLFERS

New women golfers can take their first steps into the sport - with a helping hand from Foxhills Club & Resort.

The historic Surrey resort is hosting a women's golf day on Saturday June 23 (9.30am start) for anyone who wants to swing a golf club for the first time.

For just £20 per person, participants will be given a gentle introduction to the game with all equipment provided and some expert tuition on hand.

As part of the experience, there will be a 30-minute Pilates for Golf session hosted by Linda Segerstram of The Intelligent Core, which underlines the health benefits to improve core stability and flexibility.

Children aged eight and over are welcome to join the Funsport group in the Youth Club, while partners can also use the practice facilities or kick back in the nearby restaurant Nineteen.

There's no strict golf dress code either with gym gear, trainers and anything comfortable to wear all suitable for the day.

And there's an opportunity to meet Foxhills' friendly team of professionals, meet like-minded individuals and a buffet lunch followed by use of the club's award-winning spa facilities afterwards.

Assistant professional, Lauren Blease, said: "Golf can be quite intimidating for women who want to try the sport so we're trying to break down a few of those barriers at Foxhills to create a relaxed and fun environment to give it a go.

"It's a great sport and has so many benefits - not just the physical but the social side of golf as well."
