ROYAL PARK LEADS THE WAY FOR TORINO GOLF AT GOLFERS’ CHOICE AWARDS

With an irresistible combination of outstanding golf and numerous historic, cultural and gastronomic delights, the Italian region of Torino has it all for a golfing break, and leading the way is Royal Park - I Roveri after the top club won one of the main honours in Leadingcourses.com’s coveted 2020 Golfers’ Choice Awards.

The acclaimed 36-hole Turin venue, a five-time host of the Italian Open and a member of the Torino Golf Destination (TGD), beat off competition from some of Italy’s most prestigious courses to be voted first in the ‘Best Golf Club Facilities in Italy’ category by users of the respected website.

Launched seven years ago, the Golfers’ Choice Awards are the only user-generated golf-course rankings in the world, with players rating each venue out of 10 for the quality of its golf and non-golf facilities.

Clubs were judged across a variety of categories including the standard of their golf, practice, changing room and clubhouse facilities, with Royal Park scoring an impressive rating of 8.7.

Marco Aquilino, spokesman for the Torino Golf Destination, said: “Everyone is very excited that Royal Park has received this top award. Royal Park is one of the top clubs in Europe and it is fantastic news for both the club and the region of Piedmont

“Our region is very proud to have a selection of some of the country’s best golf courses. As this honour demonstrates, more and more golfers are discovering the many delights of playing in and around Turin, and we’re confident that interest will continue to grow as Italy continues the build-up to hosting the 2023 Ryder Cup.”

Royal Park is part of the four-strong Torino Golf Destination, which offers 108 holes and highlights some of the very best golf available in the country. Other members include Circolo Golf Torino - La Mandria, La Betulle, and Golf Club Cavaglià, all situated within a 50km radius.

What’s more, two of the four – Royal Park and Golf Club Biella Reply Course - Le Betulle – were placed in Italy’s top four golf courses in a recent top 100 European courses ranking, issued by a leading UK magazine, while Circolo Golf Torino - La Mandria is also in the country’s top 10.

Away from the fairways, players can experience the refined and elegant city of Turin, renowned for its industry, Baroque architecture, dramatic scenery, Italian football champions Juventus and world-famous tourist attractions such as the Turin Shroud.

And there is no shortage of quality hotel accommodation for visitors to choose from, with J Hotel, Hotel Cascina di Corte, Opera35 Suite&Studio, Romantic Hotel Furno and Best Western Le Rondini among the venues providing the ideal base for a stay-and-play break combining golf, relaxation and culture.
